I'm sure you've run into it before: finding a child-friendly restaurant when you're on holiday. So here's our Noordwijk food guide for families, packed with family-friendly restaurants in Noordwijk. Because when your children are happy at a restaurant where chips aren't the speciality, it's so much more enjoyable.
During our trip to Noordwijk (you can find the article with all the info here), we visited a restaurant every day. Here are our favourites.
Yan Noordwijk
This cosy eatery just outside the centre of Noordwijk serves accessible yet traditional Thai dishes. We were especially impressed by the Tom Kha and the Massaman curry.
It's a cosy and hip café to sit in, but we found it just as enjoyable to choose from the large takeaway counter. Everything was packed up hot and we could simply eat by the fireplace in our cottage.

Pannenkoekenboerderij Langs Berg en Dal
Look … I was already sold at the words pancake farm, but when I saw the interior I actually just wanted to move in. It's a genuine little farmhouse, but styled with all sorts of quirky and worldly objects, and a crackling open fire as the eye-catcher.
And the menu matches the character: classic but with the necessary creativity. So no standard list of pancakes (although those are there TOO), but the most creative combinations, such as carpaccio, goat's cheese etc.
Be sure to also try the fresh soup and homemade lemonade. Worried your children won't last that long? No problem, because there's not only a lovely indoor playground but also a children's cinema.

Strandplaats Nederzandt
A unique spot. I can't describe it very well, but it's a beach club meets winter/summer bar meets restaurant. Vrijstaat Nederzandt sits at the heart of a beautiful bit of nature, with on one side the Boswachterij where you can walk among the deer, and on the other side a gorgeous belt of dunes and a vast stretch of beach. There's also a lovely wooden playground and there are plans for a play ship.
Once the children had completely worn themselves out, we went inside to sit by the fire. We ordered some very tasty cocktails and let the chef choose our food for us. A great idea, because we simply couldn't decide. We had a hamburger, very tasty fries, a salad and a spicy pasta with burrata and Mediterranean vegetables. The portions were very large, but everything tasted really good!

Noordwijk Winter Wonderland
Let's call it a kind of winter pop-up at Beachclub Noordwijk C. Winter Wonderland is a very cosy concept with a small ice rink in a warm tent with lots of games. Ideal with small children, because the tables are arranged around the ice rink, so as a parent you can keep an eye on them while enjoying a nice cocktail, mulled wine or cheese fondue yourself.
And don't panic if you'd prefer something a little more refined: the menu is just that bit more extensive than the one on the ski slopes.
In summer, by the way, there's a beautiful Ibiza-style beach bar here.

Bij de Duinen
Just like Nederzandt, a boho-style restaurant with lots of rattan and lots of plants. Beautiful interior. On arrival, our youngest was immediately given a colouring sheet and coloured pencils so we could browse the menu in peace. That was necessary too, because even for breakfast it was an extensive menu. In the end we all chose different breakfasts. All equally delicious, though. Fresh fruit, perfectly cooked eggs and pancakes, and thick slices of dark bread. Definitely worth it as a breakfast. I did find the portions quite hearty, so I'd sooner opt for a brunch rather than breakfast.

Hiromina Noordwijk
An Asian all-you-can-eat concept. We already knew those … or so we thought. In all honesty, we found the decor slightly less beautiful than those boho restaurants, but it was cosy and suited the concept.
In the end this was probably our best and certainly our most surprising dining experience. We knew in advance that we were coming to try the hot pot. That in itself was already a hit with our teenagers. The hot pot concept is doing extremely well on TikTok at the moment (do have a look ). It's basically a kind of lean fondue with broth. We chose the spicy broth and it really was very hot. Full of flavour, though. In that broth you cook all sorts of things, which you eat with rice or noodles.
But besides the hot pot they also have an all-you-can-taste menu. So no overindulgence here, but a lovely way to sample all sorts of things. You choose what you fancy via a tablet and before you know it, all kinds of little plates of tasters are on the table.
Not only was the food on point, but so was the service. Probably about the friendliest and most knowledgeable service we've seen in a long time. An absolute must!
